We don’t pick and choose which Abys or Somalis come into our care and sometimes we take in those that need more TLC than others. SPECIAL NEEDS can indicate cats that are seniors or have medical challenges. This page highlights those that are available for adoption and those that are in permanent care. They require more vet visits than others and we are very appreciative for your donations that help pay those fees.

SPONSORSHIP:You can sponsor a special aby or somali by clicking on our donations button.  You can set up a monthly donation of $15, $20 or $25.  Your donation will help to buy 5 cans of food, a monthly supply of kidney supplements or a monthly supply of medication.  When you set up the donation please indicate which aby or somali you are sponsoring.

Ginger - SPONSER THIS GAL

Location: Permanent Foster
Adult – Female

Ginger and Jasmine came to us in late 2023 when their human passed away.  Poor Jasmine had a ruptured eye and we had to remove it.  Once it was removed she felt so much better and started becoming active again.  Unfortunately Jasmine passed in 2025 from kidney failure.

Nothing is keeping Ginger down and she travels the stairs like a  youngster!

Mattie - SPONSER THIS GAL

Location: Permanent Foster

Mattie came to us in April 2026 when her owner could no longer care for her.  At 16yrs she is still playful.

Thank  you to her foster family for taking her in!

Rest In Peace

Our sweet Dahlia came to us in 10/2021 from another small rescue.   She had been found in her carrier in the parking lot of a grocery store.   The local shelter deemed her a barn cat when she hissed at intake.   She was taken in by a small rescue group who had her for three months.   It took a long time for her to come around in our foster home, then she was transferred to another foster.   She had a small stroke due to high blood pressure and also in kidney disease.  At that time, we placed her in our foster family that takes our hospice and senior cats.   There she lived with love and everything she could ever want until she succumbed to her illnesses.

She took a piece of our heart with her!

Another angel left us so soon after Dahlia.   We are so heartbroken but we know that her foster family filled her last year with lots of love and special treats.

Hopefully she is spending time with her human over the rainbow bridge.

Surya you were loved!
